I'm sure this has been asked before but i couldn't find the topic or one current enough. Will someone please help me to learn what the best places for living and teaching are in Latin America?
I will graduate with my Bachelors of science in speech language and hearing (not relevant to this field) and I don't have any certs but i am willing to get one. I'm not looking to make/save a lot of money. I just would like the experience. I will most likely stay for 6 months only. I know in cases like this i will have to sign a year contract then just quit?
Anyways, thats a little background info on me. please assist me in learning what latin american country will be the best place for me to go.
Thank you. |

Depends on what your idea of best places is. Are you looking to work and teach in a BIG city? Then I would say head to Mexico City. I taught and lived there for years so feel free to PM me if you'd like more information on the beautiful DF.

Then I'd say anywhere in Latin America.

I can only speak for Mexico City.
Lots of public transportation
Tons of language schools. The pay at the language schools is low but since you said you'll only be staying for six months it won't matter.
Try Mexico City. It has it all and more! |

Check with Harmon Hall or Hamer Sharp. Not sure if they would sponsor you for a work visa for only 6 months though. Plus, you may not want to tell them that you are only going to be there for six months only.
You'll fill out the tourist visa on the plane and when you get to the airport in Mexico City they stamp it for six months. It doesn't give you permission to work though, but I have "heard" stories where people have.
If you have enough of a savings, you could volunteer to teach somewhere since you said you weren't looking to make money, just the experience. |
