Hi,
I'm new to this forum.
Does anyone have any information about whether it's possible to bring pets (from Canada) to Peru? I am hoping to move to Arequipa to volunteer (to start) teach ESL. I am TEFL qualified with BA and have been working as a librarian for the past 8 years.
We have a dog and a cat and I'm just not willing to let them go. But...I really nead a change and have been wanting to do more than travel for a while now. |

I was looking at Peru pet transport, too. I found this website. The info isn't super comprehensive, but I gather that it's just paperwork, no quarantine or anything.

Where are you volunteering in Arequipa? |

It's possible, but I suggest you first come to Peru and see if you can find a job and will stay a while. I've seen PLENTY of people who come only to leave a month or two later. |

I wonder if 'angledog' ever brought their pet here. I brought my [Korean] cat from South Korea [he was a stray] to the States. I just had to pay a few thousand won for the correct "documents" and the airline fare.
But it was much more trouble to try and bring him here [Peru]. So, currently he is with family in the USA. I hope to stay in South America for a while and eventually bring my k-cat here!
The official 'pet transport' businesses are EXPENSIVE!
It is easier to transport illegal 'substances' than a beloved k-cat... T.T |
