This response comes very late, but....
I live in the SF Bay Area and teach at an Intensive English Program affiliated with a college. If you want community college jobs, check these listings for requirements: https://www.cccregistry.org/jobs/searchForm.aspx
With your experience you would be eligible for a job teaching English, and the EFL teaching would be a bonus to show your experience with diversity and ELLs.
At the Intensive English Program level, we have hired people with an MA in literature and experience, but prefer not to because they don't have as much knowledge of second language acquisition and the structure of English. If you really want to teach ESL, maybe try to take grad courses in those areas as a non-matriculated student? Maybe even in Israel? |
