Hi,
My boyfriend and I are both licensed English teachers; I have a Master's in Foreign and Second Language Education and he has two Bachelor's degrees in English and Education.
We are in Colombia now and looking to find work in Peru. We will be in Lima next and would like to find work quickly (money running out) and preferably without paying several hundred dollars on a working visa.
How quickly and cheaply do you think this can be done?
Thank you! |

I'd say check out intl schools, but they usually don't hire foreign ESL teachers. Plus, finding work quickly will work against you.
Try bilingual schools. You're not going to be asked to pay several hundred dollars to get a work visa, chances are, you'll be asked by institutes to work illegally on a tourist visa.
Best bet is bilingual schools, might make about $1000 a month if you're lucky. Could also check intl schools, see if peopel have pulled runners. Check your PMs
Why ddin't you try to arrange an intl school job ahead of time? |

Find a language institute. You will get hired quickly. The money won't be great, but you'll get by. And you won't have to worry about that pesky visa. |
