I have been offered a job teaching IELTS at a new school ,under UK management. The salary is 1000 a month with free accommodation for a 30 hour week. Can anyone please advise me if this remuneration is appropriate .I have been teaching in Taiwan for many years and I have no idea about the culture of teaching in India.I have visited twice before only for holidays ,therefore, I am basically uninformed about the education system. If anyone is kind enough to reply my email is woodspoiler@ hotmail.com |

It appears to be very good. Currently that's about 80,000 rupees. Average TEFL salary less than half that usually. 30 hours - teaching hours? I expect you'll have to work hard for the money then!

Well, it's an over-generalization, but students mostly work hard and are respectful to teachers |

I would suggest googling 'visa for India' which will help get you to an Indian embassy or consulate website - more info there |
