I've lived in both and have to say it's a toss up.

In Eastern Province you can escape to Bahrain. Here in Kuwait the place is really badly set up for expats. It's not as bad as some people have said but the place is just 1 big eating hole. I haven't seen 1 nice neighbourhood here. No decent beaches either. Groundhog day....work, gym, pool, sleep. There's nowhere for expats to meet and Sid ain't my thing (often Wink)

Qatar was so much better than both.

Hmmm ... At least in Kuwait you get to see and meet women.

Kuwait cost of living is way higher than Saudi.

Apparently, you are never more than 20 feet from a rat in any urban area.

I'd say that all of the Gulf has a rat problem what with their cavalier attitude to trash dumping. But, the lovely little furry creatures are everywhere and will still be here when human habitation on this planet has ended. Cool

I'm no fan of Kuwait, but I'd say that rats are the least of their problems. I actually never saw any when I was there, but my harras loved cats.

Milton Keynes is the most boring place on the Planet. Closely followed by Basingstoke.

Dear scot47,

"Just go out on the highway and get that adrenalin rush man!"

Doing so in a car will provide that, but you'll get a much bigger jolt on foot.

Regards,
John
