|

Hey,
Where's the best place to start looking for a furnished apartment in (or near) the Banqiao area of New Taipei City? How much do they run? How much would an un-furnished apartment run?
Also, does anyone know of a decent, affordable hotel that one could stay in for one or two weeks? A hostel would be okay I guess but I couldn't traipse around with suitcases every day, so it'd have to be a safe/legit/etc one.
Thanks! |

Here is where I found a couple of furnished apartments over the last two years: http://rent.591.com.tw/
It's a great site, but it's all Chinese. And if you can't read Chinese, get a head start on it by installing the Mozilla Perapera Chinese Popup Dictionary which has greatly aided me in my Chinese reading comprehension. I used this software in conjunction with the above-mentioned housing website extensively when planning my last move to Taiwan. |

My question wasn't how long you'd be here - it was why... |

I am just going to Taiwan to see people and take care of some things. Then I will go to Alaska. |

It seems that you still don't grasp simple English. You could have simply said, "Why are you visiting Taiwan?". I indicated that I am renting an apartment for one month and you ask why am I moving back to Taiwan . |

It's so hard to word my questions precisely enough that they pass your pedantic and hair-splitting scrutineering.
I guess I could have also simply asked "Why are you coming back to Taiwan?" or possibly "Will you be working online, when you come back to Taiwan?" or "Are you planning on working online from Mipple House when you return to Taiwan in June?" perhaps even "Will you be visiting people in Taiwan before leaving to travel / visit people / work online from somewhere else - Alaska perhaps?"
See, that's the inherent nature of questions; people ask them to get clarification. If they already know the answers or all the pertinent points, there wouldn't be much point in asking them now would there? It doesn't indicate a failure to comprehend the language, it indicates a lack of information necessary to further a conversation or reach a conclusion.
Congratulations though, from what I have seen in this thread your spelling has improved.
