Eje 5 needs one too, as it's usually crowded, but I suppose it's too close to, and parallel to Eje 4, where there's already one. Tacubaya to Santa Fe has been mentioned, on the "Camino a Toluca". Que horror! |

The supervia is being put into that corridor, and UNAM has been commissioned to do a study on Santa Fe...years away before that part of the city is habitable. |

Well, maybe there won't be a Line 5, 'cause line 4 is sure a flop so far. At any time of the day there are 10 people, at most, going past from my end. I had occasion to be at San Lazaro today (went to Venustiano Carranza to hear Lopez Obrador speak tonight) and whilst I was standing there I noticed there was a MB poised to go to the airport with not a single person on it, and I was there for around 15 minutes. I have ridden it 6 times so far, two of those times during rush hour, and at most there were 5 or 6 people standing, from Buena Vista to Hospital Balbuena, which is pretty much the whole route. Most of the time it was half empty or a third empty. |

Sounds good to me. A good reason for using it as the overcrowding is what puts me off! I visited my wife in hospital yesterday, and for convenience had to take the metro (albeit only 2 stops). I let 2 packed trains pass but still had to travel like a sardine on the third.
Why would you worry about underused transport? They are not going to scrap it, so enjoy it while you can! |

But that goes the other way, doesn't it? |

I'm not sure...it runs north-south mostly does it not, taking pressure off Reforma, Periferico, and the Mexico-Toluca road? |

Well, running a bus with 5 people isn't really good for the environment, which is supposedly part of the reason for the new $$$$ buses. I know they aren't going to scrap it, but it is not really serving a lot of people, not helping the environment, and will be an un-needed expense (for more info on this you might want to check out the Facebook page Gastos Pendejos). |

Fair enough, if that's your bag, but personally I suffer much more for the the stress of discomfort than any "environmental" issues. |

Transport, noise, pollution and some parts are very dirty. That is why I gave up the idea of looking for a job in Mexico City, if I want to visit Mexico City I can come for a few days, but living their would be like being in a SARDINE CAN!!!!!!!!!!! I would rather live where the air can at least pretend to be clean and I do not have to live with your WONDERFUL public transportation No offense |
