Can someone please inform us of the prospects there? Do they hire expats to teach ESL? What's the pay? What's the visa situation? Is it safe there? How is it living there? Etc... Thanks very much. |

Had a friend over there who was at LSA (Language Solutions). Whilst the pay was almost acceptable & the students eager; the rest of it wasn't. Living situation was far from acceptable with lack of water & matresses. The centre lacked of a lot of equipment such as photocopiers & CD players apparently.
Visa, you will need a proper visa to work prior to entry, getting paid was a drama as they found it was impossible to send money home via a bank transfer & only allowed to take X amount of foreign currency out (can't remember the amount I was told but not much)
Another problem was that although the country is essentially safe, particularly the north; they weren't allowed to leave Algiers.
If you want to go; don't go with LSA & be very sure of your terms! |
