I know that on Election Day, no alcoholic beverages can be sold. Does anyone know if anything else is prohibited or closed? |

Voting for a candidate that will actually make a difference is prohibited and Zcalo/Reforma/most of downtown will probably be closed because they always seem to be on Sundays.
Sorry! |

Which candidate do you think could actually make a difference, Phil?
Part of Reforma is always closed on Sundays to vehicular traffic and open to people on bicycles and skates and on foot, but only to 2 pm. |

None of the current ones! But I think this belongs on the other election thread!
To answer your original question (what's closed & prohibited), I can't think of anything else. |

The 'bootleggers' (who are a no no) love election weekend. The entrepreneurial spirit shines on and taxi drivers know where to find them. I've always felt sorry for tourists who arrive and don't know about the antiquated 'dry law', though some years there seems to be exceptions in the tourist zone. And it's a serious bummer to have a birthday on election day. Ah well, where there's a will, there's a way. |

Why not just buy all your alcoholic needs in advance. We have! |

What? Plan ahead for stuff? (That's so British). You just never know what the plan will be here in Mexico, until the last minute, right? hehe |
