Hi guys, I'm interested in teaching in HK but was wondering if I'd even be able to get a job as I have no teaching experience and no education degree.

Me:
Degree in Business Administration
J.D. (Law School Degree)

I'm an Asian American, which I have read seems to lower my chances of landing a teaching job. However, I have a HK permanent ID card, so I don't need to worry about obtaining a visa. Would this make it any more enticing for companies to hire me?

I don't think the fact you are Asian-American will be much of a disadvantage, but if you have no teaching quals or experience I'd strongly recommend that you take the four-week CELTA or Trinity TEFL course. This will give you the basic TEFL teaching skills and hugely upgrade your employability.

anenis, don't worry, you're well educated and people here appreciate that. you just need domain knowledge. Celta and Tefl courses really help.

Ditto.

And then apply. Anywhere. Just not these language schools. There is an insan wealth of jobs on the SCMP at the moment...insane amount.
