Hi guys, I'm interested in teaching in HK but was wondering if I'd even be able to get a job as I have no teaching experience and no education degree.
Me:
Degree in Business Administration
J.D. (Law School Degree)
I'm an Asian American, which I have read seems to lower my chances of landing a teaching job. However, I have a HK permanent ID card, so I don't need to worry about obtaining a visa. Would this make it any more enticing for companies to hire me? |

I don't think the fact you are Asian-American will be much of a disadvantage, but if you have no teaching quals or experience I'd strongly recommend that you take the four-week CELTA or Trinity TEFL course. This will give you the basic TEFL teaching skills and hugely upgrade your employability. |

anenis, don't worry, you're well educated and people here appreciate that. you just need domain knowledge. Celta and Tefl courses really help. |

Ditto.
And then apply. Anywhere. Just not these language schools. There is an insan wealth of jobs on the SCMP at the moment...insane amount. |
