I too am curious as to how the DELTA is viewed by universities in UAE... do you have any more info on that VS?

@Chromium: Your DELTA will count as credit towards an MA TESOL, in many cases.

I am currently doing my DELTA and am considering doing a distance MA TESOL afterwards... if that's required by universities in UAE, and if they recognize distance MAs...

Does anyone have any opinions on these questions? Thanks in advance!

Without getting into the long running debate on the merits of CELTA/DELTA vs MA... Laughing

How it is viewed by employers depends on whether they lean towards the British system or the American system (and that tends to change with management changes), but if you want to widen your opportunities, definitely get the MA too.

As far as recognition of an online MA, they are not recognized by the Ministry of Education (K-12 schools), but they are recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education for universities.

Another key to the best jobs is experience. Try to get your experience teaching Academic English with emphasis on reading and writing as those are the weak skills for the Arabic speaking students.
