Hi
I'm going to need to get a Mexican criminal record check/letter of good conduct soon (Carta de No Antecedentes Penales)
I've been doing a lot of research but there are a few grey areas.
If anyone's had any experience of getting one done could they please PM me?
Many thanks
ST

Have you been to the Procuradora de Justicia del Estado in your city? They handle these. Here the process is very transparent (requirements posted on wall), and costs just 115 pesos.

It is a pretty fast process, but where you go varies by where you live. I am not sure what you mean by gray areas, either you have a criminal record in Mexico, or you don't.

Thanks a lot for your replies.
I was told to get it through the Procuraduria General de la Republica in DF. But on their website, where it lists requirements to obtain it, it says they require a letter of request from an embassy etc
Quote:
Carta de solicitud de la constancia de datos registrales, expedida por la embajada, consulado o dependencia de gobierno con vigencia de tres meses, dirigida al titular de la Direccin General de Control de Procesos Penales Federales, o al delegado estatal correspondiente.

My embassy (British) in DF have said they won't provide any letter of request.
I've emailed the PGR for clarification but they haven't replied and I'm away from DF so can't check in person.
Thanks again

If you were here dealing with it, youd run into no such foolishness.

I'm only going on what it says on the PGR website. But I hope you're right.
Anyway if anyone has obtained one, or knows someone who has, please get in touch
Thanks
