I am an American, 60 traveling with my Thai wife 32. We lived in Korea for 8 years now (7 as university teacher) and in Jan 2013 want to move to Costa Rica(looking for future retirement home Thailand-CR-Panama-Ecuador). I have a BS degree-4 year, TEFL certification-live-120 hours, and 10 years teaching experience. I wish to get a university job(before I leave Korea if possible) and in the evenings and weekends I plan to teach private-business English so we can afford a 2 bedroom apt(furnished) in a safe area.Want to live in the central valley area(weather, if possible) but will go where the best offer and opportunity to get business privates.
????s
1) Any recommendations or contacts at universities
2) where is a safe place for us to stay-San Jose-how much
3) where is the safe place to live in San Jose-decent 2 bedroom apt-how much
4) could I get $10 an hour to teach business English
5) looking to stay 1-5+ years

1. You probably will not be able to get a university job.
2. Your starting pay at an English School will be in the$8.00 per HR range
3. There is no guarantee of a safe place to live in San Jose area but some are safer than others. You will find bars on most of the windows of homes here.
4. Read the TiciTimes.net and insidecostarica to get a feel for the country. It is notvas cheap as many think.
