|

While they claim to speak "the King's English" (they will swear to it), I can't understand a damn word they say, having just spent 5 months there in 2008.
Anybody got any idea of any ESL possibilities there? I didnt get any chance to check it out while I was there. |

Eclectic,
I think this is the second time I have posted this, not sure what happened to my first post. Whatever, why don't you stir up the pot on the Saudi message board? |

Hey dudes and gals,
Guyana is sure a lonely and abandoned British outpost on the lonely north shores of South America.
What part of the Carib are you in? |

Very old thread... but I'll have to say they do speak English in Guyana but their accent is so thick you won't understand unless you befriend a few. Being Trinidadian, I understand them well. Their O's & E's are pronounced as A's; so they would say 'corner' as car-na, & 'mother' as 'madda' etc etc. |

About as much chance of legal work there as of a Green Card for The Big Rock Candy Mountain. |
