hello,
I'm looking for a new mobile phone but am concerned that should I go abroad I may end up stuck on a contract, paying money out when I cant use the minutes etc because of the international roaming charges, then not be able to use it on a network abroad due to compatibility issues.
I'm looking at a smart phone probably android.
Any advice? |

Whatever phone you get, to make use of a local network when you go abroad, make sure the phone is unlocked or can be unlocked.
I bought a Samsung smartphone in Canada that was locked but not under contract, thinking I could just have it unlocked by a tech in Mexico and then use my local chip. Turns out they couldn't unlock it at all. Ended up buying a Mexican Samsung Ace. |
