And the commentators are coming down the final stretch, and it's Sashadroogie neck and neck with ColeDavis, but PeglegPete is expected to make a break for the line if he can find his documents.. |

Sorry, about to lap you.
Yes, the teacher has to leave the country and do a visa run, but there is no 90/180 day rule for such a visa as it is only valid for 90 days. Any such rule would be pointless. I know one teacher who flew back to London, got a new visa and was in Moscow three days after he left with another 90 day visa.
There are regular visa runners going to Estonia and Latvia for example.
The issue then is, financially is it worth taking the hit to work like this? These schools do not pay for it aznd they really don't care. |

Single-entry and double-entry business visas can be valid for the period of no longer than 90 days.
Multiple Entry Business visa can be valid for 1 year or 3 years depending on the invitation submitted.
(Please note that Multiple Entry Business visa is NOT a Residence Permit. You can use it NOT for staying in Russia but for multiple business re-entries only.
According to the Russian Migration Law foreign citizen with Multiple Entry Visa (valid 1 year) can stay in Russia only 90 days within each 180 days period.
The 90 day rule only applies to a multiple entry visa (valid for 1 year). |

Thanks PLP, a fine spurt there at the last.
That makes things clearer. It is possible, although both a lot of hassle and, from an employment perspective, illegal. |

Aha! Was not aware of that. Cheers Pete.
Alas, all I collect is a bronze medal... sniff sniff. Oh, well. I'll just have to drown my sorrows. |
