I am planning to go after jobs in Qatar and Saudi in another couple of years. Right now I have a BA, DELTA, and IELTS examiner status.
I understand from reading here that I would have a far better chance of getting a high salary if I have an MA. I can try to get one online, or I can get one at Bosphorus University in Turkey. (I live here).
Would that be "as acceptable" as getting a distance one from an English country? Frankly I don't want to spend more money than is necessary.

| Get your degree from an Anglophone country; an MA from a Turkish university may not be accepted (outside of Turkey). You might even find a UK-based university that will take some of your Delta credits toward an MA. Anyway, be aware that not all Saudi employers accept distance-earned degrees. |

| Should be, I've worked with teachers with degrees from AUC, Saudi universities, Indian universities, various Arab and European universities. If it is an internationally recognized and accredited university there should be no problem. Many times these non-native speakers have more precise grammar that native-speakers, they don't use 'gonna'. |

Rather displays your regional dialectal prejudices, doesn't it? Because of course, British or Australian or New Zealand or Canadian or the rest of the native speakers don't have any such peculiarities in their daily speech.

Actually, I notice the opposite. Where I teach, I hear gonna used more by the NNS teachers, especially those who tend to watch a lot of western TV shows and movies. But my students don't hear me say it.
By the way, I once was asked about should of and could of. And then there's anyways...  |
