I am moving to a small town near Matsumoto City. I have looked around the web for sites on living in Matsumoto, but was unable to come up with much. Here are some questions that I have:

Internet Cafes. I have resisted buying a laptop because I'd be chained to it. Where can I find somewhat affordable internet cafes?

Gyms: Where? Best options?

Sports: Places to play soccer and/or basketball? Leagues to join?

Nightlife/Social: Good places to meet other foreigners and/or single women.

Banks: Best to deal with if Japanese ability is minimal?

Anything else: Groups and such?

Do you have a job there yet? Employers usually sort out a few of those things, esp. banks. A couple can be found here.

Internet cafes.

Gyms/Sports
Go to this page and click the Multilingual tab at the top, to switch to English mode. You should then be able to find gyms with little problems. If you can't read katakana (not everything gets translated to English), スポーツ means sports, and it's near the soccer ball icon. Start there.

I take it you've found this site for other information.
