Is it reasonably easy to find an apartment in Salalah near the university where ESL teachers work? About how much is the rent? |

Extremely easy to find a flat in Salalah. The majority of teachers live near the 3 colleges in Saadah.
Usually, rent will be 150-300. Depending on size and quality. These are for furnished places. 150=1 bedroom, 200=2 bedroom, 300= 3 bedroom villa. |

Does TATI help teachers to find an apartment? Does the rent have to be paid up front for months in advance? |

Some agencies help others don't. But it is probably best to look on your own as they will persuade you to take their sub par and expensive flats.
Since you are referring to TATI, it means you are looking at SCT. We have a committee here to help find housing.
I do not know anyone in Salalah who pays more than a month at a time. |

Yes, I would be teaching English at SCT. I am thankful that you know of it and I am wondering if I might ask you these questions:
Is Salalah a reasonable place to live for a single woman --by which I mean, do you think the neighborhood where teachers live is safe?
Do the teachers drive to the college or are they driven there on a bus or is the college close enough to walk to from some of the apartments?
Do people drive fast and crazy like in Riyadh?
Does Salalah have bookstores and health clubs that single women can go to?
Are there places to walk around that are nice in terms of nature?
Are there trees and grass in Salalah?
Sorry to be asking so many questions.
Thank you for your generosity of information. |
