I got through the first two and a half clips which were quite enough to tell me that we live on different worlds. This was crude stuff which I did not find at all funny. Some people throwing up and an exaggerated pastiche of a thriller shoot-out. And the bloke talking about electrical equipment and nads.

Depends who you ask. Mainly refers to Opening Post, or Original Post. Some people use it to mean Original Poster. Never been too sure myself, so I use it indiscriminately to look knowledgeable Very Happy

Indeed, lots of info about shows! I�d better do the CELTA thing first. I doubt if everyone on my course enjoyed it. I think at least two nearly pulled out. As far as I know everyone continued/ started teaching beyond it. I think it�s much the same as any course in that there are good and more onerous points to it. Sometimes you just sort of grit your teeth and get through. I find it easier to 'deliver' with a class I've got to know rather than a one off thing.

Onto other important matters: As a teacher in high schools, I considered having certain knowledge of some shows to be essential. I made sure I kept up with those little bas.. sweethearts! South Park was on that list and so was Little Britain. (Luckily I was already well-versed in that). I've never watched shows like Family Guy.

When kids would start telling me a story (from South Park) as though it were real, I�d be able to finish it for them - a bitter and jaw dropping moment (for them). I greatly enjoyed taking the wind out of their sails. Some specific information:

Personally I didn't "enjoy" the CELTA, but I found it useful, coming from a non-teaching background. It gave me the confidence and basic skills to go into a classroom not looking like a rabbit caught in the headlights!! And I can happily say I'm enjoying my job at the moment.
