Hey, I just got to Japan. What's new and fresh in J-pop right now? I don't want to seem square by listening to Ayumi Hamasaki like I did 5 years ago |

Agreed with the "disturbingly" description. Along the same lines is the group Arashi. <shudder>
Just turn on the TV at night to see a music program and you'll learn who is popular. The show hosted by Tamori (the guy who looks like a greasy-haired yakuza and never removes his Rayban sunglasses) is on every week. |

It's pretty much crap like AKB48 with some good acts bubbling under the surface if you look hard enough.
Sort of like back home, really. |

K-pop got big. To the point that Kara breaking up was as big as news as the Tohouku Earthquake. |
