Hello,
I am a teacher in Oklahoma. I have taught English and biology for ELLs for 3 years. I have a BA in English Ed, went through the teacher prep program at my college, and have an M Ed in Bilingual Ed/TESL. I'm certified to teach English, ESL, and Biology in the state of Oklahoma
I want to teach in Texas next year because the salaries are MUCH higher and the ESL program sounds solid
1. How do I become a teacher in Texas? I know I have to take the TExES exam, but can I do that after I get hired (i.e. do I have a year to pass it?)
2. Can you tell me about the testing and placement procedure? We use the WIDA in Oklahoma and that is what I'm used to
Any info would be greatly appreciated. |
