I was wondering if there are any current studies or something similar that shows the current extent of radiation from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant disaster?

There are dozens. "Fukushima radiation maps" is the second result on google.

Would this one be acceptable to you?

Greenpeace has down some independent testing. Pop this link into Google translate as it is in Japanese:

I'm not sure what motivated your question, but don't let it stop you from coming to Japan. Food safety is generally secure throughout the country.

Thank you both. I'm not worried about food safety (I actually hadn't thought of it). I have just been looking at some English schools in Northern Japan and wanted to know what the current radiation levels are to know how close to the site I could be without worrying about radiation. So I guess that a better question would be what a safe distance is from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant disaster site where one would not get more than than "safe" amount of radiation.

It's not necessarily a guide per se, but it puts the dosages in perspective:

That's pretty scary. Do you know if a lot of fish from there are shipped to the Osaka area?

I really like sushi and sashimi and I'm a bit worried.

I'd be more concerned about mercury than I would be about radiation as far as seafood is concerned.

In that case I'll stick with McDonald's.

Looking at the radiation in seafood it is concerning. I don't know about these fish and their migration patterns, but they could hypothetically go from just off the coast of Fukushima to Osaka.

I asked a lady at AEON about it. She said their fish comes from Kyushu.

I just used Osaka because it was mentioned. Kyushu would also be possible.

The vital part of your post there was "I don't know about fish and their migration patterns". Understanding and giving the appropriate weight to any comments follows on from there.
