Hi everybody!

I have been picked up by AEON, sort of. They want me, but I'm on a waiting list until positions open up.

1.)Is this normal procedure for them?

2.)How likely am I to be placed before the six month limit is up (my
prefernces are wide open with the exception of placement on
Okinawa)?

Just out of curiosity: what have you got against Okinawa?

I don't have anything against Okinawa, necessarily, other than its distance from the main cluster of islands. I would like to visit there while living in Japan. I have also requested not to be place directly in Tokyo, if possible, as I didn't find Tokyo to be my cup of tea.

Okay, so I got my placement today. I have been offered the AEON school in Kita Koshigaya, in Saitama Prefecture. It sounds like an excellent placement and the city sounds fun, though small.

Is anyone familiar with the area?? Is there anything I should take under advisment prior to accepting that I may not have thought of, yet?

If I'm not mistaken, Saitama is my sister city. Anyway, all I know about Saitama is that it isn't too far away from Tokyo so maybe visiting on the weekends or in your spare time will be convenient for you.

They have the biggest mall in Saitama at Lake Town, but that is about it.

Woo Hoo! Malls are always good. The recruiter told me there is a Costco nearby, too.

Yeah, I read that Lake Town is the biggest mall area-wise in the whole of Japan. Costco and IKEA are a stop away.

Thanks! I couldn't be more pleased. From what I've seen on the prefectural website and read so far, it sounds like a beautiful area with infinite possibilities to learn and explore. I couldn't have asked for a better placement and I can't wait to get started!

Hey Haruka, congratulations Smile When are you heading over? I only ask in case you're on the same training as me (starting March 14th).

O.O I'm flying over 3/11/13 and start training on the 13th. Wouldn't that be funny if we were in the same training group?
