So Love2Travel- how did your 1st year with Leeds turn out?

Any other teachers have experience?

I am speaking with them today.

It was quite a struggle.

I do not recommend them.

Sending you PM on why exactly.

Oh, my...... that sounds really awful and unprofessional.

I am glad for Dave's board, so that we can learn from others and NOT let these unsavory people suck up more young, and not so young, teachers.

Gosh for a second I thought you were referring to Wattsenglish Podebrady in Czech Republic. I just got back from their summercamp and had all the same issues you mentioned.

I just signed a contract with Leeds and have an apartment in a convenient location. I haven't experienced any problems yet. They've been reasonable about contract negotiations and nothing seems amiss. Hoping it all goes well (crosses fingers)

I just applied for a job with Wattsenglish, Slovakia. Are they that bad?

It's been almost 4 months since I responded to this thread about Leeds...
at the time I was in Paris and considering a move to Istanbul.

I now find myself in Istanbul and job hunting.
After sending my CV to Teacher in Turkey (AKA Leeds Academy), I had an interview with the director of the program (he runs both programs). We spoke for over 1.5 hours, and I had a very good feeling about him. He knows the Turkish educational system like the back of his hand. He had 4 possible jobs to offer me, but sadly they were all in schools that seemed far from the center of Istanbul. He then put me in touch with a contact of his who runs a very nice international school in the heart of the city.

To make a long story short, eventhough I decided on another job opportunity, I feel like I could trust the director of Leeds Academy to place me in a good teaching position in Turkey.
