The turn over is horrible. People disappear in the middle of the night, some do runners and some are fired at whim. If you get hired to teach at the KPC, you are basically in a contest. There is a lady who does observations and you need to get a certain number of points. If you don't get those, you are out. It reminds of of the Gong Show.
Americans usually cannot pass it. Seen Americans just taken to the main office and put on the plain the next day.
No job stability at all. Most people do not last.
Don't work for them.

Turnover is bad. The "lady" (talk about a euphemism) is incompetent. And yeah, if you're an American, your chances are less than 50-50 that you'll pass muster with her "standards." It's like having a monkey observing your class--a monkey with power. She's worthless in her position. She's a Brit who married a Kuwaiti; I think that's the only way she keeps her job there. The on-site TQLS manager is a nice guy, but he won't stand up to her or the other idiots in the oil company's management.

Yes, the location sucks--it's filthy. There's not a damn thing to do there.

They make sure you are on site from 7-4 by having you sign in and out using a fingerprint reader. The line forms about 10 mins to 4 every day.

And the students at that oil company...OMG. Shocked

I've stated it before and will do so again here--TQLS treated me well. The oil company, the students, and the location are the culprits that make the job suck.

MEB Cool

Laughing I thought you were going to say 'shot'. But anyway, I worked there on a 3 month contract a few years back and was as described above - pretty painful, especially the students, most of whom were either grossly over-weight or bodybuilders pumped up on steroids whose brains had turned to mush. Seriously weird admin who used to charge into lessons and shout at the students then charge out. The fingerprinting was introduced in my final weeks there, why I'll never know. The students came and went as they pleased.
