I've seen IH Mexico City recruit for a while now and often wondered but then been put off by the salary. However, it seems to me that the salary they offer of 11000 pesos a month is prob the best one would find out of most language schools in the city.
Does anyone know a higher payer? |

I wouldn't take it! Maybe for a first job though... |

11000 is a decent first job, but with IH you have to watch what that entails...if it's travel to the four corners of the city, it is a lot of hours work for it. |

Most Business English courses entail extensive city travelling Guy. Lets face it, if you want to end the bus time, move to Cuajimalpa. |

Cuajimalpa? Why there? You'd be stuck on the far outskirts away from the bulk of the classes you could do in Polanco, Roma, Del Valle... areas more central.
Many business English courses entail a lot of travel if you plan them poorly. |

Maybe geaaronson has a point, Guy! The hated areas of the city for classes are Bosques de las Lomas and Santa Fe. That way you'd be near, and otherwise could spend your day down in the city (as long as you had a full schedule). Food for thought!
Even better, do all your work from home! |

Except for classes with one very special student, that's what I do. |

True, but how do you get around Santa Fe and Bosques? No metro, slow milk run buses ...even by bike you'd have to be in very good shape to get up and down those hills. Only a car gets you around those areas I'd say.
I'd rather be in Polanco, doing 25 hours a week within a 10 block radius, having several metro stops around, and being 10 minutes from home.
Now working from home...can't beat that commute Phil, from the bed to the computer. |

There's worse places to work than IH- just not much worse. You won't find many former teachers who have positive things to say. |

Would anybody have any suggestions for better schools to look for work? |
