After being harrassed by Her Majesty's Government, Starbucks have agreed that they will pay UK Corporation Tax on their businesses in the UK. Until now they had "fixed" it so they paid huge royalties to sister companies in other tax jurisdictions (The Netherlands) and so avoided UK tax. Amazon and Google do the same but seem to be happy to continue operating in UK without paying UK tax. |
