CONFERENCE "LANGUAGE FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSES"
SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT


On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, the Institute of Foreign
Languages organizes a conference related to the theory and practice
of language for specific purposes within secondary vocational
education and at university level.

The conference will be held from 23rd to 25th of September 2004 in
the Hotel "Plaza" in Herceg Novi, at the Montenegrin coast.

Topics:
Development of LSP
Needs analysis in LSP
LSP and linguistic analysis
LSP and discourse and genre analysis
Vocabulary and LSP
LSP syllabi and materials design
Methodology of teaching LSP
Evaluation and testing in LSP
Role of the LSP teacher
Technical translating/interpreting

The list of topics can be extended to include any other aspect of
language for specific purposes. The work at the conference will be
organized through plenary sessions as well as presentations and
workshops throughout the conference in Serbo-Croatian, English,
French and Russian.

Conference registration fees are as follows: 30 euros for
participants from Montenegro and Serbia, 50 euros for participants
from soft currency countries and 70 euros for participants from hard
currency countries. The registration fee is paid in cash at the
conference registration desk in Euros only.

Accommodation of participants will be also in the Hotel "Plaza". The
cost of accommodation is 40 euros for a single room and 30 euros per
person for a double room, based on full board. Please, let us know
whether you want a single or a double room, so that we can inform the
hotel to book the rooms on your name. You can make the payment upon
arrival and no deposit is necessary.

You see how much interest there is in Montenegro amongst our TEFL colleagues !

Take a straw poll and you would find most of them do not know where it is !

In my experience too conferences are of zero interest - unless someone else is picking up the tab !

Actually, I'm going to this one. I think it fits my needs perfectly. I get a budget for conferences and I attend a lot of them.
