Hi, I have been lurking here for a while. Does anyone know anything about a school called Model Language Studio in Tokyo? The GaijinPot ad I saw suggested they teach English through drama. I am interested in learning more.

I assume you checked the website link to the right of the ad?

The promo picture shows a teacher playing drama games with little kids (kindergarten aged), and not teaching adults....

I neglected to click that ad. I was wondering if anyone here had worked there or knew someone who had.

From what I have heard it is fine.
The pay isn't great, but it probably is better than other places.

Which branch was it? The one in Yoyogi or the one in Seijo?

I worked there for 2 years. It is a reliable job. You always get paid on time and the contract is straight forward (no hidden BS). Be prepared, however, to work very hard. It isn't your typical job. You must be very active during classes as there is no book work for the kids to do (save one short workbook page a class). The elementary classes are fine, but the 2 year old classes are horrible to teach. Trying to get 10 of them to do a play to perform in front of their parents is a very daunting task. They give you 2 full weeks of training as well as weekly training sessions during your first year, so the company is very supportive. If you get offered a position, don't teach in Fujisawa. The woman who runs that branch is one of the most horrible people I've ever worked with. Other than her, everyone is very nice. I would totally go back and work there again.
