Well, the time has come to get out of DF. Some of you know that we have been (slowly) building a house in a small town in Zacatecas, and as it gets near the end it is just easier to be there rather than trying to do it for here. So in a few weeks we will be totally moved into the house we are renting for a year while we get everything finished. Id love to have a DF gathering before I leave. I will probably still be here a couple of months a year, for the time being we will be keeping the apartments here, and not renting them. I have loads of ESL books and tapes that I am not taking, and would love to share the goodies with anyone who wants them as well. Target date to move in Jan 10th, so hopefully there will be a date bfore then that works!

Hmm, we're having a big BBQ on the 12th, two days late....

What do you think about a date on Saturday the 5th?

Aside: why aren't you renting the apartments here? Are they plan Bs?

Wow! I had no idea you'd be leaving us, and so soon. I hope you'll continue to post at Dave's, so you can let us know how the big move is going. Good luck with everything and I hope to see you before you go.

We had a bad experience renting one of the apartments in the past. Long story short, it took a year to get her out - and no rent, no light bills paid, nothing - the whole year. They are kind of plan B, we are going to leave one of them bare bones furnished so we have a place to stay when we want to come and visit, but I dont think well be returning here to live.

Isla, yeah, things got moved up a bit, but a lot of things just fell into place sooner than we thought. January 5th will be great, pick a time and place.

Phil, yeah, internet was a concern, but I am moving into another job with OE that doesnt demand the same level of internet speed or stability that the position I have now does, but I did work last week in Zacatecas with no problems at all.

Wow! Big changes ahead! It sounds like you're more than ready and moving into an ideal situation. How exciting! I'm glad to hear OE is still a good fit for you, too.

It is! I am moving into my third postion in less than two years, and have close to doubled what I earn in that same time frame! We are pretty much always hiring, so let me know if you decide to apply so I can give you some pointers!

Thanks! It's always at the back of my mind. I'm looking at masters programs right now, and it's possible I'll need to shift my work schedule around to maximize study time, so OE has been at the back of my mind as a possibility.

So what features are you and your husband putting into your new house? I daydream about building one day. If I had my "druthers," I'd put a lovely Spanish Colonial style home on 4 or 5 acres. My little fantasy. LOL

Sounds good, though I don't have much trouble with stubble, except on my legs!
