Hi guys.

Well my time in teaching in Vietnam might have come to an end. Work permit regulations are becoming more strict, and my job has to let me go at the end of January. While I could work at one of the less desirable schools, I feel like I'd be taking a step back.

I'm currently working on my MA TESOL (no I don't have a BA, and YES it is possible go this route with the right experience). I have about a year left of part-time studies to do this. I pretty well have the funds to cover the degree, and would really just need to earn enough cash to live on.

Might there be anything for me in Thailand? I don't mind taking a "step back" if it is in a new location

Work = yes.
There are lots of little language academies who will take you on on a hourly basis (salary will be inconsistent but you could subsist for a year). No visa/work permit means regular runs to the border (every 60-90 days) at your expense and banking will be problematic.

Legal work with visa and work permit = no. With the coming of ASEAN you will find that the door here, like most of ASEAN, will be pretty much shut to you for the same reasons you find in Vietnam.

If you are looking to work legally in Thailand in the future, be aware that not having a Bachelor degree may cause problems for you even though you have a Masters.
