Strange as it may seem, some of this green technology has been around for more than a century (initially suppressed by the oil-igarchs some claim) but is only now at the cusp of commercialization. FE (free energy) promises to decentralize power production.

What's free energy? Imagine a motor turning a generator and the generator producing enough power to not only turn that motor on its own (unplugged) but also powering other devices--essentially, perpetual motion. Don't believe it? Neither did I at first but there are half a million 'free energy' videos on YouTube. One such patent dates to 1905 and Tesla made such claims around the same time.

Cold Fusion also known as LENR, is also making a comeback after being ingloriously dismissed in the '80s. A one megawatt generator is about to hit the market.

Gov'ts carrying huge debt loads will only encourage FE as they can no longer afford to be in the power generating business, particularly nuclear. They may actively encourage distributed generation as they decommission aging nuclear power stations. Heavily reliant on energy imports, Japan may become the first completely FE economy, having already de-nuked after its devestating tsunami.

And what about the oil-igarchs? Have they been secretly funding some of the many fraudulent FE claims and threatening university funding if tenured professors endorse such 'pseudo' science? Even Wikipedia seems subject to their control but, to their credit, makes it blatantly obvious. No doubt, part of Europe's push into green energy is the desire to reduce its Russian energy dependency. And in America, isn't the recent 'advance' in fracking technology merely a defensive measure by the oil industry as they increasingly come under public resentment?

I have met people who claim that Nikoa Tesla discoverd dark secrets that were suppressed by the Federal Government during and after his death.

One of his strange (??) ideas was that electricity could be transmitted in a way similar to radio waves.

Perpetual motion machine? Some myths just seem to keep popping up again and again. Evergreens.

It's not just Tesla. I came across this headline today: "6 Nuclear Plasma Battery Technology Inventors Now Dead Or Missing." Going along with what Sasha says, there's more myth, mystery, fraud, and conspiracy theories in FE than in a Dan Brown novel.

You're probably referring to Tesla's DEW (Directed Energy Weapons) or what came to be known as 'Star Wars' during the Reagan era. Speculation has it that this was in catch-up to Russian capability. An ironic twist to this story is that during WWII, the Japanese dropped research into the atom bomb in favor of this more practical 'death ray'.

What destruction might such weaponry be capable of? Some including this engineer suggest we may have already seen it on 9/11: http://drjudywood.com/articles/JJ/
