With an MA and 6 years experience teaching your home country I would think you'd look into a position at an international school. Look for lists of International schools and visit their web sites. They often have a list of current teachers which includes their qualifications. I've noticed that they either have a B.Ed. or a masters. Rarely have a I seen a one month crash course such as CELTA, TEFL or equivalent. Those are usually for newbies not experienced teachers. You could consider it PD I suppose but surely there are better choices for PD than a crash course for novices.

An MA in an unrelated subject is not much help if planning to teach English as a foreign language. Six years' teaching experience in a non-related field, while helpful, is not going to separate any applications much either. Two years of teaching in China will not bolster a CV either, depending on where one applies for EFL work later.

Therefore, unless planning to teach a different subject in an international school, I think getting a Celta in the future is not a bad idea at all and does not appear to be beneath the OP. It will also serve as a solid foundation for further PD, such as a Delta or MA in EFL. Certainly in Russia it will be of great benefit.

What did you teach in the US?
My guess would be high school history, but that could be wrong.
You could easily get a job at a private K-12 school in Latin America, teaching either history in English or English. Some are English medium and pay well, some are bilingual, and some just have English as a daily subject, and pay in those varies from good to terrible and everything in between.
