Does anyone have more recent info on this bunch?

Older threads seem to be very negative, slightly more recent threads are a bit negative.. So is this a pattern - are they gradually getting better?

...and everyone else who has received or thinking of applying with European Centre.

This company is probably one of the worst places to work for a teacher in Saudi Arabia. I am currently working here and would like to warn others so that they don't fall into the same trap as I did.

Before I came here, the recruiter and managing director of the company, A, had promised the following things to me:

* Temporary work visa (multiple entry - essentially valid for 90 days but you must exit the kingdom every 30 days), leading to full Employment Visa [Iqama].
* 12000 SAR per month, for 12 Months
* Clean, furnished bachelor status accommodation
* Potential for overtime, and if not available then 166 GBP extra on top of contract

In the 9 months I have been working here, I have received my full salary (after deductions for water etc) only twice. The company has arbitrarily deducted various amounts from our salary. No justification was given.

You will only be paid for maybe 9 of the 12 months you will work. Your visa will be strictly temporary, i.e. multiple entry visa - which means you will not have many rights in this country. You cannot open a bank account; You cannot even register your SIM card without an iqama as of this November.

A will not respond to your emails. He will do his utmost to mess you about, and if you become forthright, then he will resort to bully tactics.

Your accommodation will be very substandard, often with sewage leakages, no or little water, and much more.

All of the teachers who are currently working agree that EC is not a good place to work. All of them quickly realised when they came here that they will not be here for very long.

In addition, of the teachers that started at the same time as I did, approx. 7 have been fired for very minor infractions eg. one instructor left his office door open, and was thus removed from the project site.

DO NOT DEAL WITH EUROPEAN CENTRE.
