Hi All,
Hope you all had a great festive season.
I'm a newly CELTA certified teacher, hold a British passport but not a native speaker. My other half is British and a native speaker. He's got a CELTA, and more than 6 years full-time post CELTA experience in the UK and Turkey. He has recently received an MA in Language Teaching from University of Edinburgh. Where can we find work that would allow us to earn enough to enjoy the place we live in? We're interested in nature, mountains in particular, sustainability, cycling etc. Also eating healthy food is very important. We would also like to save a little bit if pos. We spend money on food and travelling but not on luxury goods or clothes etc. Obviously finding a good job is much easier for him. Any ideas?
Thanks a lot for reading. |

Are you interested in Mexico?
I work in a state university system in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca. The universities are located in small towns around the state, with a lot of nature nearby.
He would be a good candidate for a job in the system. You would not, but in my town there is a lot of demand for private one-on-one or small group lessons and you could keep very busy doing that.
The only thing to keep in mind is Mexico has just reformed its immigration laws and there is still some confusion about it. I'm not sure what the options are for giving private lessons under the new law. Are you legally married? that would *probably* help the visa situation.
Oh and btw, in Latin America just tell people you are a British citizen, no need to mention what your first language is. |

Thank you for the quick reply. Never thought of Mexico to be honest.
And yes we're married. |

Your age and original nationality?
His age?
What exactly did both of you want to teach?
You wrote a lot about what you want to get out of the COUNTRY, but not the JOB. |

My husband would be interested in teaching in a university (adults) and I would like to teach different age groups but mainly adults.
We're both early 30s, and also have Turkish nationality.
I'll look into China, thank you. |

For your husband, yes.
For you, depends. Do you have a university degree from the UK to go with your UK passport?. If yes, then yes. If no then no.
