You've completely missed the point. It doesn't show what language a baby does or doesn't 'have', it shows that they can identify differences between one language and another.

The pacifier test shows changes in attention levels. If a baby reliably pays differential attention to different stimuli, then on some level, they must be able to perceive the differences between those stimuli.

Interesting. My youngest is 9 weeks - he was exposed to English and French equally in the womb. My oldest is 2 years & 7 months, he is starting at a French nursery on Monday. He was exposed to a mix of English and French as well, his English (my language) took off but his French is now poor (despite a good exposure from living in a francophone town and his grandparents/father). He absolutely has a preference, and that is my language.

Or it's because Special Agent OSO is in English, I'm not sure.

More breaking news: another brand-new scientific report has discovered that babies have ears, and mothers. That's about as far as it goes, "unfortunately".

Why not? Granted, we're incapable of mind-reading but there's a lot that can gained from observation. Look at Jane Goodall's work.

Practical application(s)?
I can't personally think of a single one....
Perhaps someone can enlighten me...
