To be honest I have zero sympathy for her. It's well known that Indonesia has the death penalty for drug trafficking.
To be honest I very much doubt that they will put a grandmother up for the firing squad and will probably give her a pardon and commute the sentence to life in prison instead. Thereby making themselves look kind.
It's all about the so called image of Bali/Indonesia. Hence making a big show of punishing her for spoiling Bali's image. Although of course none of the big Balienese officials have anything to do with the disrubtion of drugs on Bali. Also Baliense obvoiusly don't take drugs either it's all down to the evil ungodly bules. Therefore the rest must all just be heresy ;P |

She was dumb and had a screw loose. You can't successfully smuggle drugs in your luggage period. So with that in mind why be so harsh with somebody like that? Also she was a mule, so she was manipulated by some criminals. |

Sure she was.

A HOUSEWIFE facing a firing squad for allegedly trafficking 1.6million worth of cocaine into Bali was branded a neighbour from hell last night by the people who knew her back home in Britain....
...It doesnt surprise me at all that shes been arrested for drugs, he said. I dont know what was going on really and I suspect neither does she.
I think she was spaced out all the time on drugs, she had a vacant look. Her house was burgled because she borrowed money from someone and did not pay it back. From what I remember, they gutted the place.
Another former neighbour said: She was totally the wrong sort of person in this sort of neighbourhood. She was a bit of a wrong un. |
I think I should make my position clear.
My home area was infested by drugs and the crime that comes with that stupidity.
Moving to Indonesia was amazing. Hardly any problem at all when compared to South Yorkshire, thus little drug related crime.
I have a young daughter now and I'll be a lot happier if she never knows much about drugs so I fully support shooting smugglers, even nasty little grannies.
I wish they'd extend it to anyone with a dealer quantity.
Yep, harsh but I'm a lot more interested in my daughter's safety than some silly cow who wants cash and doesn't care who she hurts to get it. |
