Just wondering what kinds of teaching jobs there are in HK with a CELTA certificate. I am planning on getting one in March. If anyone knows of any job sites in HK that would be good too. Thanks. |

Difficult to comment without more info. Degree? Experience? Current location? Do you have HK ID? etc. |

Eight years plus experience teaching in Japan and China. Taught students of all ages including at high schools and universities. Planning on doing a Celta in March. My undergraduate degree is in History. No HK id but how does that work? Able do get work in Mainland China with no trouble then they gave me a visa. |

Sounds like you'd have no trouble getting a job at one of HK's private language schools, though you could probably do better with your experience - British Council maybe, once you've got your CELTA. You could also try applying for the NET scheme. They prefer people with QTS but you'd be in with a shout praps - almost on deadline for this year's applications, so you'd need to get a move on. I mentioned HK ID because if you had it you don't need a work visa. |
