I'm interested in teaching in the ME in the future (I'm not sure where, my only experience close to the region is in Egypt and that is off the radar for now!). I'm getting ready to start applying for MA programs and there is one that is particularly interesting to me, but I'm not sure how it would be perceived in the ME.
It is a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning (TESL option), which is for both adult and youth learners (it also comes with public school certification). I'm not sure if I want to teach adults or youth in the long-term (probably adults).
Thoughts? It is a new program at McGill University here in Canada.

| McGill is a very prestigious uni, and it's an on-site master's, so I'm pretty sure it would be fine in Qatar. |

IMHO... this would be a good program. There is nothing better than having options. Get Canadian certification just in case. While teaching adults may present more opportunities in the Middle East. If you want or need to return to Canada to work in the future, more and/or better jobs tend to be in the public schools.

Thank you, I appreciate it! My husband is eligible for early retirement and I would like to leave my options open. I'm still in the process of selling the gulf to him as a stay-at-home-husband but I've got some time  |
