I won't us e names but two major expat forums in Beijing run ads for two women agents that are blacklisted everywhere - one for more than three years (R.T.). At one forum she has 6 free ads and two paid ads and at the other forum she has 8 free ads and one paid ad. Noget this... on one of the forums, a dozen people documented how she ripped them off and those posters (even some old-timers) had their posts about the lady deleted. Then when he complained about the deletions, he was banned!
At the other forum the moderator just locked the thread when the shit started getting serious (about criminal accusations) even though the woman openly admitted in a post that she wants to be paid for a reference letter and a release letter as well!!!
I know expats sites have some bills to pay, but I think knowingly taking money from Chinese agents that have a history of cheating expats is the equivalent of supplying a pedophile with a bag of candy and driving him over to the neighborhood playground! |

There is a simple notion to describe this - money! Morals come a convincing second.
The best foreigner teachers can do is name and shame, spread the word on the Internet. Google is powerful. |

Who determines this, or is this by means of the e-kangaroo court of FT's opinions. |

The FTs 'cause they ought to be qualified and experienced to view the culprits. |

If not a scam, what do you call it when, instead of candy you have independence, and instead of driving the person, you fly them out of the their country, and then call them an "expat" but still have them tied on the other side of the fence to their home country?
Either you are an expat and you don't need to carry around a stupid passport or you are NOT an expat and should not be thinking along these terms.
The word "expat" goes right in the books alongside "light beer" and "eating healthy at McDonald's". |
