Sorry to hijack the thread. If you have been vaccinated for hepatitis, would that show up as positive in a test, and could you be rejected for it? I know antibodies show up for a certain test if youve been vaccinated, and there is another test to see if you actually have the disease. Do they make this distinction when testing?

I know a Russian lady who HAS hepatitis B and she got a visa. It showed up when she got her physical and they gave it to her anyway. Surprising.

mcloo, I think you're starting to worry too much. The medical exam in China is assembly line style and is pretty basic. If you're not dying from HIV then you're probably going to be fine.

Do you mean the residence permit? You don't need a medical to get a visa as far as I remember.

Her husband is an art teacher in Guangzhou. I'm not familiar with what family members of Foreign Experts are required to have, visa or resident permit. Whatever it takes for a foreigner with that status to reside in China is what I meant.

P.S. In some countries you DO need a physical to get a Z visa (Mexico is the only one I'm sure about, that's where I got mine).

Your Dr or Travel Clinic will advise you.
Hep A and B plus Tetanus and the current flu would be the minimum.
