Is it unethical to keep applying to jobs after you have accepted a job offer? Considering the job offer may fall through for whatever reason or may be rescinded. I mean you just signed a piece of paper which means nothing until you actually get a visa in your passport.
On the other hand in a strict sense seems to be bad faith job hunting. |
When I arrived in Asia, to start a career in teaching, one of the teachers told me to always have plans A, B and C. At the time I couldn't quite grasp what he meant. Two years down the line and I really get what he meant - so no, it is not unethical for you to preempt the actions of quite often, unscrupulous employers.
I worked for a top tier university in Asia and it was closed down because it was handing out degrees from universities abroad that hadn't given them the license to do so. This college didn't even have the license to operate as a college in the first place - Until one picks up experience, it is hard to foresee this kind of thing happening.
I say good for you for being able to foresee trouble and trying to avoid it - I wasn't so 'clued up'. |
