|

Hi Everyone!
I am in the process of creating a profile on the HCT website and they are asking the following questions:
1.What is your greatest achievement to date and why do you regard it as such?
2.Describe yourself in the words of an imaginary, fair and impartial critic.
3.Why are you interested in a position with the Higher Colleges of Technology? (If you are an overseas applicant, why are you considering a career move to the Middle East, and to the United Arab Emirates in particular?)
I would really appreciate any advice on what I should concentrate on as I am new to UAE culture and not sure what kind of teaching and learning methods are valued here, especially at HCT.
Thanx

These questions have nothing to do with culture or specific teaching methods; they're relevant to who you are as a teacher, in general, and frankly, are the types of questions one is asked during an interview regardless of the job or employer. In fact, #1 (achievements) and #3 (interest in the position) should have been mentioned in your cover letter and CV/resume. That's where you need to start because only you can respond about yourself. If your degree program required you to write a personal statement or statement of purpose/intent, that also may guide you in addressing these questions.
As for UAE culture (it's diverse) and info about HCT, the Internet is your friend... |

This is not an exam where there is one right answer. It is an opportunity to present your view of things - and your own self-image. |
