What's the general cost of living like in Yangoon. Anyone worked there? Think I'd do alright on 2.2k a month? Any savings?

Rent is very expensive and it is a landlord's market.
The government is selling old buildings trying to solve this problem but it will be a long time before they do.
If you negotiate a contract get them to include accommodation.
Otherwise, get a Burmese person to help you negotiate.

You can live cheaply with the side stalls but Western food is more pricey.

I'd say 300 to 600 per month for accommodation
then 300+ for food depending on your taste/ lifestyle

Pot of tea at hotel = $3
Club sandwich = $11
Street side rice/ meat = $1
Myanmar beer 1 bottle = $1.50 to $4 depending on where you go
Taxi = $2 to $5 depending on what you can negotiate
