I'm a newly qualified teacher looking for my first job and I've applied to a few places in Eastern Europe and Russia.

REWARD language school has emailed me with some questions and I've been trying to find some reviews of what it's like to work for online but I haven't found anything. I'm not familiar with the name so I wanted to know if anyone had heard anything or worked for them and knew what it's like?

Also, I don't quite know what to say in answer to some of their questions- like they've asked me what salary I expect to get and ovbiously I don't want to say anything too low nor too high. From what I've heard the cost of living in moscow is quite high but I haven't heard anything about Volgograd. Any ideas on what I should ask for?

I have never heard of Reward English school...and I thought I knew every school in Moscow.

You will need in the vicinity of 60,000 roubles...two thousand dollars...to get by in Moscow if you have your own apartment. Your own apartment, a fair apartment in a relatively decent neighborhood not too far from the Metro...will cost you in the vicinity of 33,000 roubles...give or take a few. Then there is water and electricity...another thousand Then there is phone and internet...another thousand roubles. Finally, there is transportation....not too bad

But food....if you intend to do anything but cook every meal at home...you will go hungry and thirsty on any less than 60,000. You may find work on the side...but you may not. And private students come and go at the drop of a hat.

good luck....contact me if I you need any more advice.

I am sorry Venus, I didn't realize you were thinking of working in Volgograd.

The best way to figure out what your salary should be anywhere in the world is simply to go on line and look up the cost of living there. Do not settle for a minimum, but add at least ten percent to that. At least.

We are precious commodities and should be valued accordingly.

I hope this helps.

Did you take the job with REWARD?
I am interviewing with them now and can't find any reviews on them.

I'm interviewing with them as well, and was wondering about the school.

Any info?
