|

I returned, recently, from Dhaka in Bangladesh where I experienced the worst conditions of my very long career. Specifically, being hired to teach ESL (Actually, EFL). The college in question, the International Medical College and Hospital, was a centre for corruption and cronyism, such that I feel that this warning should be posted in order to reduce the pain for prospective teachers. The details may be too long for this post. Therefore, if interested, please read my Blog at; MOD EDIT |

I think it would be useful to re-post this under the General Asia Forum, because Bangladesh is not in the Middle East, but South Asia. |

'Dedi': You may be correct. But there did not seem to be any recent posts in either of those two areas. I chose the Middle East because, personally, I do not feel that Asia is dominated by Islamic states (Yes, I am aware of Malaysian statistics). Bangladesh is an Islamic country (I strongly advise you not to listen to the government's statement about secularism) and I am self-moderating my comment on that subject. Perhaps, I shall repost under South Asia.
'Scot': How much time do you have? Yes, it is a God-awful developing country, but the students are wonderful. Don't go there to become rich. Actually, don't teach to become rich. I accepted the terrible experience because my girlfriend was already there. No further comment about that either. |

By the way, I meant that 'Bangladesh' posts seemed to be rare. |
