be warned, there are loads of teachers looking for work. A recently advertised position for Villawood Detention Centre, generated 160 applicants.
If you want to teach in the TAFE system, or a lot of the government programmes, you have to have Cert IV in training and assessment. Unfortunately I have been told this serves no purpose for language teaching and is going to cost you.
The other criteria they are using is 'recent local experience' This is the url for an interesting article which covers the topic generally, and there are a couple of comments from ESL teachers at the end.
